Belarusian Cement Plant

As resolved by the Government of the Byelorussian SSR (Resolution No. 216), work started in 1987 on constructing a unique facility, Belarusian Cement Plant (the world’s first facility for dry cement production using high-moisture chalk).

Because of lack of funding, the construction of the plant was suspended in 1993. It was only after a long time that Belarusian Cement Plant’s first process line was put into operation on September 11, 1996.

In 2008, Belarusian Cement Plant started to operate equipment for the use of tires as supplemental fuel for clinker burning, which enabled the company to reduce the consumption of purchased process fuel (natural gas) and cut production costs.
At present, the company comprises 26 shops, 21 departments, Branch 1 (Cemagro), the construction company Cemstroyremont, and Branch 2 (Cementtorg). The number of employees is 1,707.

Within a relatively short period of time, the company managed to stabilize and readjust the cement production process, enter the global market, consolidate its position in the domestic market, and prove the high quality of its products.
